WORK HISTORY:
Mr. Peter Keegan Williams has been the Board Member as well
as the Senior Advisor for Prudential Vietnam
since 1999.
From 1990 to 1997, he was the British Ambassador to the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam. With more than 30 years of experience
working for the Foreign Affairs Bureau, he was appointed Director
Head of the United Nations Department, Foreign and Commonwealth
Office, responsible for all UK involvement in the United Nations. He also led a UK delegation for GATT and WTO, having played
active roles for GATT and WTO from 1980 to 1989.
Mr. Williams was formerly a Director of Policy for the British Information
Services and Consul, New York, USA; responsible for liaison
with media in the US and economic liaison with banks and investment
houses. Prior to that, he was British Ambassador to the
People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen having also worked
for British Embassies in Morocco, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Williams graduated from College de Meveq en Baroeul Nord
France after receiving a Bachelors degree in Arts (Economics),
Pembroke College, University of Oxford in 1962 and Master
of Arts in 1965.
