Launched in 1998 by Former Vice President, Former Chairman of The Sponsorship Council of The National Fund of Vietnamese Children, "For children's eyes" is the programme that supports and helps children in process of protection, care and treatment of eye diseases.   

What's "Children's Eye" programme?

Since 2012, Prudential Vietnam and The National Fund of Vietnamese Children have created many forms of effective partnership, made belief in community and society. One of those humanity activities is "For Children's Eye" programme.

In 2017, with total budget costs more than 2 billion VND, the project "Raise of awareness on eye protection and care for children from primary schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city" which is under "For children's eyes" programme will be implemented til August 2018.

Whereby, the project "Raise of awareness on eye protection and care for children from primary schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city" will be implemented in 2017 to August 2018 with total budget of 2,692,000,000 VND (USD122,400) in which Prudential sponsors 2,222,600,000VND (USD101,200), the rest is sponsored by the system of The National Fund of Vietnamese Children
Report on the project "Raise of awareness on eye protection and care for children from primary schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city", Dr. Hoang Van Tien (PhD) - President of the National Fund of Vietnamese Children - shared: "The goal of the programme is to develop interventional model that helps improve awareness and responsibility of parents, teachers, community leaders and especially children to prevent school short-sighted disease (very common disease for children in Vietnam nowadays), to contribute to improvement of children's health - to implement National Programme of Action for Children of Vietnam from 2011 to 2020. The programme will support and provide free treatments at health facilities for the children who suffer from treatable eye diseases".

Mr. Stephen James Clark, the CEO of Prudential emphasized: "Addition to business activities, Prudential is always a typical of the industry in contributing in social responsibility activities and supporting community. Addition to practical activities to support and develop education as well as to take care of the children such as schools, building, scholarship support, bike donation... The project "For Children's Eyes" aims to raise awareness, improve vision for children who have the risk of suffering from eye diseases at primary schools from two big cities. With our commitment on companying with The National Fund of Vietnamese Children till 2021, we expect to promote and support the initiatives to improve stature and health of Vietnamese children, especially eyes diseases".

As expected, after the project is finished, there will be about 30.000 children and families who raise their awareness on eye care and protection for children through communication activities in community; 88 teachers and school medical staff who raise their awareness on eye care and protection for children are communicators at their schools; 80 children core group who raise their awareness on eye care and protection and also are hard-working communicators at their schools; 4.200 children receive screening and consultation on eye diseases; the project officers, partnership companies, local authorities of the project also raise their awareness on eye care and protection for children.
